Anachan's History

As you can see, I definitely had my awkward stage.  I do not have all the pictures I want to put on this page yet, so I will most likely be adding to it later.  Thank you to my dad for supplying some to fill in the gaps!

This is me as a baby.  My mom had this picture taken to use in case she needed one to include in her passport.

This is me at about a year and a half old, in 1970.

In this 1972 picture, I am about three years old.

This is my kindergarten picture.

This picture is from summer, 1975, which would have been before my 1st/2nd grade year.  Looks like I liked that dress a lot!

I am in 4th grade in this picture.  This would have been fall of 1977.

This is my 5th grade picture.  A little awkward . . .

This is my 6th grade picture.  I started wearing glasses in the spring of my 5th grade year.

This is my 7th grade picture.  May my children skip this stage!!!

This is my 8th grade picture.  It's a bit better than 7th grade.

This is me as a freshman in college, 1986-1987.  At least I managed to end up cute after all those years of awkardness!

This picture was taken at the beginning of my sophomore year in college.

I was one of the first Benson Scholarship finalists.  The scholarship is an academic one, given to 24 incoming BYU freshmen--12 men and 12 women--each year and named for the president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Ezra Taft Benson had become the president of the church just a few months earlier.  I am in the front row, all the way on the right end, in the plaid skirt.  I did not end up winning the scholarship, but I am thankful for the opportunity I had to participate in the finals.
