Child Middle Eastern Costume | |
This is a Middle Eastern costume I made for my eldest daughter. It consists of harem pants (instructions found at Meara al-Isfahani's Ethereal Keep), a chemise shirt, a Ghawazee coat, a scarf with bells, and a veil. The scarf and veil can be worn on the head during the day or used as dance accessories in the evening, which is how she is wearing them in the picture. She is excited about learning to belly dance. (Oh, and by the way, I had to more or less design the pattern for the Ghawazee. It was a good experience, and I learned a lot about what I will do differently when she outgrows this one. At least she has two, going on three sisters who will wear it after she will.) | |
