Twelfth Night | |
These are the costumes Kim and I wore to the Twelfth Night feast and court. | |

| I made Kim's costume, from Butterick Pattern #6750. The white dots you see all over the brocade tunic are ivory pearl beads I hand-sewed on the front, back, and sleeves. The grey fur has a medium-thick pile. The sleeves are the same length as the main body of the tunic, but the side arm-holes are usually used. The shirt is made of a dark red corderoy, which I've been told is pretty close to what velvet would have been in olden times. Kim made the blue belt you see him wearing. | I changed into this costume before my dance group was to perform. I borrowed the Ghawazee coat I am wearing, but I'm proud to say I made my chemise and skirt with no pattern whatsoever, and my harem pants were made using the instructions found at Meara al-Isfahani's Ethereal Keep. And, yes, I am expecting in this picture . . . |
